First day of school

First days of school always intrigue me for two reasons. One- I really like to observe other people on this special day, and two- I like to reflect back on my past first days of school.

The first day of the spring semester is much more laid back than the first day of the fall. Freshmen seem a little less lost, fee payment seems a little less crowded, girls wear a little less makeup, and people seem a little less stressed. While there are exceptions, the overall feel to the first day of the spring semester is less daunting than the fall.

By the time the spring semester rolls around, most people have things pretty figured out; however there are always a few surprises. Like today, I learned the new name of a building I already was familiar with. Well correction, I was familiar with one side of the building- The Print Shop side, not the “ Industrial Education” side. I also discovered how the only room your looking for in the entire building is the room with the number above the door pulled off of it. Fascinating, isn’t it?

In comparison to past spring first days this one went considerable well. I didn’t confuse a room for the bathroom of the wrong building. I didn’t sit down in the wrong class and then casually find an excuse to leave and find the right room. I also didn’t miss the first class for an interview.

Of all of my first days, this was by far the smoothest. So, MWF- good to go. TR, let’s see.
